SOMATIC COACHING
TAPPING INTO THE WISDOM OF THE SOMA (BODY)

​​"Soma" comes from Greek and means "body". Our bodies are living vessels of every experience we have ever had. Every emotion, memory whether we remember them or not are stored within the body. These imprints affect us on a cellular level and shape who we are and how we navigate through the world. Any emotional charge/emotions that didn't get released/expressed end up stuck in our body causing mental or physical illness/discomfort. Since the 'stuckness' is in the body, it needs to be released through the body.

​In our 1:1 sessions, you will have space to turn inwards and connect with whatever is present and seeking your attention. We work with somatic techniques, including Compassionate Inquiry, conscious breathing, mindful movement and mindfulness to gently uncover and release emotions, beliefs, and patterns that may be impacting your life.
Throughout the process, I offer you my presence. compassion, curiosity and guidance. ​I am here to support you on your path to self- awareness, healing and authenticity. ​​​​

COMPASSIONATE INQUIRY

Compassionate Inquiry is a somatic-based psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté to gently release the layers of trauma, constriction and suppressed emotions embedded in the body, that are at the root of mental and physical illness and addiction.

THERAPEUTIC (POLYVAGAL-INFORMED) YOGA

Therapeutic Yoga is rooted in the Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Stephen Porges. It weaves the traditional teachings of yoga with the understanding of the vagus nerve, which plays a central role in our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. ​​
​
Through the practice of conscious breathing, mindful movement & vagal toning exercises, we work with the body towards reclaiming safety, resilience, inner power, connection (to self, others and the world) and opening to receive, grow and transform. This approach is rooted in non-violence and compassion inviting gentleness, curiosity, choice as we move towards possibility, authenticity and freedom.

CYCLICAL AWARENESS

Menstrual Cycle Awareness is a mindfulness tool helping you be in tune with your cyclical nature as a woman. Menstrual Cycle Awareness highlights the challenges and natural powers of each the phases and invites you to discover the wisdom that lies in your body.

If working in a container, we can bring menstrual cycle awareness into sessions to support you in restoring the natural rhythm of your body.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A SESSION?

We start each session with a grounding to attune to ourselves and each other,

You are in the driving seat and I am here to support you. If you feel any discomfort or something does not land with you, you can interrupt me or stop at any point.

You are invited to share an intention for the session. Don't worry if you are not sure about your intention, we can work together on clarifying it.

Depending on your intention and what you want to gain from the session, we move into the session either by diving into compassionate inquiry or into a therapeutic yoga practice or a mixture of both.

If doing an inquiry, I might interrupt you to guide you deeper into the experience and stay in the present moment.

We work with all the layers of the body including physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

During the session - all is welcome. This includes emotions, movements, silence.

We end each session with a moment of reflection. What did you gain from the session? How can you embody what you have learned?

The Somatic Coaching Container offers you an opportunity to dive deeper over the course of 5 sessions. These can be spread out according to your needs over the course of 5-10 weeks.
This 5-session journey invites you to reconnect with your body, uncover hidden emotional imprints, and gently release what no longer serves you. Rooted in the understanding that our bodies are living vessels of all our experiences—both conscious and unconscious—this container offers a safe, compassionate space to explore, heal, and grow.
