OPEN HEART : KIRTAN & COMMUNITY GATHERING

The Sanctuary

  • Saturday 20th Sep, 2.30pm

Kirtan is a simple yet powerful practice of chanting sacred mantras together in community. • Whispers of the Body - 5 Sessions of Somatic/Nervous System Informed Yoga

 In-Person

Polyvagal-informed Yoga is rooted in the Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Stephen Porges. It weaves the traditional teachings of yoga with the understanding of the vagus nerve, which plays a central role in our emotional and physical wellbeing.

Through the practice of certain yoga postures, conscious breathing techniques, mindfulness & vagal toning exercises, we work with the body towards reclaiming safety, resilience, inner power, connection (to self, others and the world)  and opening to love. This approach is rooted in non-violeness and compassion inviting gentleness, curiosity, choice & freedom as we move towards awakening of the spiritual heart.

HORMONE YOGA

Hormone Yoga Therapy was designed Dinah Rodriguez, a Yoga Teacher and Dr. of Psychology from Brazil. She has done a lot of research on the effect of certain yoga practices on the endocrine system. From these studies she developed a set of specific exercises to reactivate hormone production and recommended them to be practiced from the age of 35 to prevent and reduce menopausal symptoms. In women younger than 35, Hormone Yoga helps to improve fertility and to remove symptoms of PMS. Over time the practice has also shown to be beneficial for most other hormonal imbalances, like Thyroid Dysfunctions, Diabetes Type 1 & 2 or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a gentle yet powerful practice that allows you to ease off physical, mental and emotions tensions and release any stagnant energy. Through a series of poses held for longer durations, you will have the space to move your attention inwards, relax your mind and create a sense of peace from within.
